Publication Process

1. Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the GCSJ online submission system. All submissions must adhere to the journal’s guidelines for authors, including format, style, and ethical considerations.

2. Pre-Review Process

a. Similarity Check:

  • Upon submission, the manuscript undergoes a plagiarism check using plagiarism detection software. This ensures the originality of the content and prevents any potential plagiarism.

b. Format Check:

  • The editorial office reviews the manuscript for adherence to the journal’s formatting and style guidelines. Manuscripts that do not comply are returned to the authors for revision.

c. Topics Check:

  • The editorial team evaluates the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s focus and scope. Manuscripts that do not align with the journal’s thematic areas are rejected at this stage.

d. Decision for Acceptance or Rejection:

  • Based on the similarity, format, and topics check, the editorial team decides whether to proceed with the manuscript or reject it. Authors are notified of the decision, and those whose manuscripts are rejected receive feedback for improvement.

3. Review Process

a. Assignment to Reviewers:

  • Manuscripts that pass the pre-review process are assigned to two or more expert reviewers in the field. The selection of reviewers is based on their expertise and the manuscript’s subject matter.

b. Content Check by Reviewers:

  • Reviewers conduct a thorough evaluation of the manuscript’s content, including:
    • Originality and significance of the research.
    • Methodological rigor and validity of the results.
    • Clarity and coherence of the presentation.
    • Contribution to the field of community service and social innovation.

c. Reviewer Reports:

  • Reviewers submit detailed reports with their recommendations: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject. They provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.

d. Editorial Decision:

  • Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes a decision:
    • Accept: The manuscript is accepted with no or minor revisions.
    • Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes before acceptance.
    • Major Revisions: The manuscript needs substantial revisions and a second round of review.
    • Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in its current form.

e. Revision and Resubmission:

  • Authors revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ feedback and resubmit. The revised manuscript may be reviewed again if necessary.

4. Final Process

a. Copyediting:

  • Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes copyediting to ensure clarity, readability, and adherence to the journal’s style. This includes grammar, punctuation, and formatting corrections.

b. Proofreading:

  • The copyedited manuscript is sent to the authors for final proofreading. Authors review the proofs and make any necessary corrections.

c. Publishing:

  • The final version of the manuscript is prepared for publication. The article is assigned to an issue and published online with a DOI (Digital Object Identifier).

d. Dissemination:

  • The published article is disseminated through various channels, including the journal’s website, indexing databases, and social media platforms to reach a broad audience.

Throughout the process, the GCSJ ensures transparency, rigor, and integrity, aiming to publish high-quality research that advances the field of community service and social innovation.
